Tim Waggoner

Guitar & Piano

Tim makes learning music fun and is very patient with all students, especially beginners. This comes from teaching over 60,000 lessons since 1993. He has taught from coast to coast as he has mostly owned or managed over 9 music retail and studio locations. Tim received his music education from over 10 years of private lessons and a music degree from Northern VA Community College and George Mason University. Besides teaching privately he has been a guest music teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools and has written his own instructional book for guitar titled “The Alter Ego Guitar Method”.

Oksana Lutsyshny

Piano

Oksana Lutsyshyn was born in the city of Lviv, Ukraine. She began studying music at the age of eight and at the twelve she entered the Special Music School in Lviv. Upon graduating from this school, she moved to Moscow, Russia, where she entered the Moscow State Conservatory, completing both her Master’s and Doctoral degrees. After moving to the United States, she was a Visiting Scholar at the Indiana University School of music in Bloomington. She is presently on the faculty at Old Dominion University and serves as an Artistic Co-Director of the Norfolk Chamber Consort.

Frank Merlo

Piano

Frank as taught at various music studio’s in Virginia Beach and has just earned his Associates degree of fine arts in music at TCC. He has been playing the piano professionally for more than 7 years, has worked with children of all ages, and plans on continuing his education at ODU in the fall of this year. He enjoys video games as well as fishing at Ocean View pier and learning about every aspect of music.

Hailey Schumacher

Piano & Flute

Hailey is a contemporary composer and musician located in the DMV area. The young artist completed her Bachelor of Musical Arts degree in Music Composition and Sound Recording at Virginia Wesleyan University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2022. In her undergraduate years, Hailey studied flute with Virginia Symphony Third Flute/Piccolo Chair, Rachel Ordaz and studied Jazz & Music Composition with Dr. Jason Squinobal and piano with George Stone. Hailey Schumacher currently studies at Norfolk State University pursuing her Masters of Music in Music Theory/ Composition ’24 under the direction of Dr. Anne Neikirk, composer and music educator.
