We offer in-home lessons and studio lessons at our General Booth Studio. All lessons are generally 30 minutes and are one on one. In-home lessons are available in all of Virginia Beach and Chesapeake.

Pricing & Additional Information:

All in-home and studio lessons are priced the same regardless of the instrument.

  • Studio lessons are a flat rate of $149 per month.
  • In-home lessons are a flat rate of $162 per month.
  • All lessons do require students to be on auto-pay with a major credit card or debit card. A two lesson deposit is required if the student chooses not to be on auto-pay (Studio only).
  • All new students pay a $19 registration fee.

Tim Waggoner

Studio

Tim makes learning music fun and is very patient with all students, especially beginners. This comes from teaching over 65,000 lessons since 1993. He has taught from coast to coast as he has mostly owned or managed over 9 music retail and studio locations. Tim received his music education from over 10 years of private lessons and a music degree from Northern VA Community College and George Mason University. Besides teaching privately he has been a guest music teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools and has written his own instructional book for guitar titled The Alter Ego Guitar Method.

Jacob Packer

Jacob Packer is a multi-instrumentalist with over 30 years of experience in live performance, recording and composition. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music, and he has recorded and performed in Detroit, Los Angeles, New York and London, England. He teaches Guitar, Bass, Piano, Vocals and Synthesizer as well as composition and home recording. He teaches many genres and styles including Rock, Metal, Classical, Electronic, Pop and more. Whether you want to learn theory, composition or just basic technique, Jacob is your Yoda. He provides a safe and comfortable atmosphere for students to develop in and caters his lessons to each individual learning style.

Jordan Harris

Jordan Harris is a multi-instrumentalist with over a decade of experience teaching students of all ages. She holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education from East Carolina University (go Pirates!) and has experience teaching band, orchestra, guitar, bass, piano, and percussion. Jordan specializes in music theory skills, teaching students to read and understand sheet music, as well as tablature for guitar and bass. Having taught in the K-12 classroom for seven years, Jordan understands how to work with students of various ages and help them develop good practice and organization habits. Jordan appreciates all genres of music…whether you’re looking for classical training to prep for ensemble classes or casual instruction for jamming at your house, Jordan is your gal!

Clayton Parker

Clayton is a professional musician born and raised in Virginia Beach. He began his musical career with Trumpet in 2014, and learning Saxophone and Piano in 2016. He has also just acquired his Bachelor of Arts in Music at Virginia Commonwealth University as of May 2024, with the intention of pursuing a Master’s degree in Media Scoring and Production. He has learned under great artists such as World renowned Yamaha Performing Artist and former VCU Trumpet Professor Rex Richardson, Taylor Barnett of NOBS Brass and Jazz Director of VCU,Ryan Kopasci of VCU Peppas, Adjunct Saxophone Professor JC Kuhl, and Low Brass Professor Ross Walter. Clayton is a massive fan of video games and their music, alongside other genres of music like lofi, jazz, classical, rap, and more.

Shea Batson

I’m Shea Batson, I teach electric guitar, bass guitar, & note reading / tablature. My styles that I teach are Rock blues, Jazz as I have studied music at Berklee College of Music. I have been playing for over 36 years and have taught at multiple music stores and studios in Virginia Beach. Beside teaching guitar, I teach most styles of bass guitar including slap.

I am a piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, Music Theory and Musical Performance Instructor with 20 years of teaching experience. I have played the piano and guitar since childhood, singing along the way. Music has been an integral part of my world, playing a major role in both my personal and professional life. I embrace the chance to be immersed in it, to share my enthusiasm for and expertise in the area of the music education experience, promoting creative development and student performance skills. I remind my students that discipline is necessary in their adventure, that mistakes are a part of learning and I encourage them to take pride in their efforts, acknowledge their achievements and to savor the joy of making music.

Mark Lincoln

Mark is a multi-instrumentalist with over two decades of experience teaching children as well as adults. He holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from University of Northern Colorado and has a minor in Music from University of Colorado. Mark has extensive experience working with children struggling with attention/hyperactivity and emphasizes the importance of strength-based lesson plans specifically designed around each child’s needs. He also recognizes the importance of laughter and strives to keep lessons enjoyable and fun, even when accomplishing challenging tasks.

Jennifer is our receptionist with experience in playing stringed instruments such as cello and guitar. She loves all types of music like electronic, trip hop, and rock. She be able to help manage your lessons, answer any questions about your instrument rentals, and provide top notch customer service.

Justyn Mills

Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, My love of music began at a very young age in Elementary School where he was a part of a select group of students to perform in an All-City choir. From there my love for singing, song writing, and performing blossomed into a dream of a career. This dream has led him to study Vocal Performance at Mary Baldwin University where he achieved 1st Place in the 2024 NATS (National Association of Teachers or Singing) Regional competition and qualifying for nationals. Justyn facilitates his love of creating music by writing in his free time. He also co-wrote two songs for Mary Baldwin University’s 2023 devised production. Justyn has a strong commitment to his craft and aims to become a Recording Artist and tour the world..
